The desktop client connects to a running Moneta POS server on your local network. No database installation required on the client machine.

Quick Install

Linux

One-line install — downloads, verifies, and installs to /opt/moneta-pos-desktop/ with a desktop shortcut.

curl -fsSL https://get.moneta-pay.app/scripts/install-desktop.sh | sudo bash
Windows

One-line install — downloads the latest installer, verifies it, and runs it (installs per-user or for all users, with a Start Menu shortcut and automatic in-app updates).

irm https://get.moneta-pay.app/scripts/install-desktop.ps1 | iex

Re-running the install script upgrades an existing installation in place. Pin a version with --version v0.1.0.

Manual Installation

Linux

  1. Download the .tar.gz archive
  2. Extract: tar -xzf moneta-pos-desktop-*.tar.gz
  3. Run: ./pos_desktop

Windows

Recommended — the installer:

  1. Download the Installer (.exe)
  2. Double-click it and follow the wizard
  3. Launch from the Start Menu → Moneta POS Desktop

The installer is unsigned for now, so Windows SmartScreen may show “Windows protected your PC” — click More info → Run anyway. Or use the portable .zip: extract it and run pos_desktop.exe.
